:: UPTU/MTU/GBTU GRACE MARKS RULE CHANGED FOR FAILED STUDENTS ::

UPTU/MTU/GBTU GRACE MARKS RULE has been changed for failed students. The grace marks are the marks which are given to a student when he/she is falling short of some marks to pass in a subject. Previously, there was a provision of giving 5 marks in two subjects if a student needs only 5 marks to pass the subject. For example, consider a student gets 22 marks and he needs 8 more to reach 30 to pass the exam, then he will be given 8 marks grace and he passes the examination.

The provision has been changed from before. The previous rule states that a student can take total 10 grace marks in three subjects. The rule is same but little modification has been done in that rule. According to previous rule, the student was only advised to take at most 5 marks in a subject out of three as grace marks. But now it has been increased to 10. This is very much beneficial for FINAL YEAR STUDENTS getting back in one subject and not getting their degree due to that back.

UPTU GRACE MARKS RULE- A GLIMPSE:

  1. The rule is very much beneficial for final year students.
  2. If a student was getting failed previously in any subject from higher than 5 marks he/she was not be allowed to clear the examination.
  3. The new rule states that a student will be given at most 10 grace marks in a subject.
  4. For example, according to previous rule, if a student is having back in three subjects- Subject 1- back of 8 marks , Subject 2- back of 1 mark., Subject 3- back of 1 mark. then he will be awarded grace marks in Subject 2 and 3 but not in 1. So, he will be considered fail.
  5. According to new rule, if a student is having back in three subjects- Subject 1- back of 8 marks , Subject 2- back of 1 mark., Subject 3- back of 1 mark. then he will be awarded grace marks in all subjects because now there is provision of awarding at most 10 marks than of 5. So, he will be considered pass.
