:: Four IIT Kanpur students refuse Rs 1 crore salary offers ::

Four IIT Kanpur students are reported to have refused to join a multinational company despite an annual salary offer of over Rs 1 crore.

The offers came during the institute's December placement round.

Two of the students, who refused the offer, want to go for higher studies.

Two others are said to have taken up job profiles with low salaries which they found more suitable. They are said to have settled for salaries of Rs 50 lakh.

According to head of IIT-Kanpur placement cell Deepu Philip, the big offers were made on Friday during placement interviews on the campus.

"The offer to these four students was for a take home salary of $150,000, or close to Rs 93 lakh per annum. Along with other incentives and perks, the size of the package was more than Rs 1 crore yearly," Philip was quoted by PTI.
