:: Now IIT Courses available for UPTU students ::
Engineering students of the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) will now be able to pursue Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) courses along with their curriculum. The facilities will be available in their respective institutes. Also, students can pursue these courses from home. Under the MHRD's 'Talk to a Teacher' program, UPTU on Tuesday signed MoU with IIT-Bombay. The tie-up will benefit 4 lakh students in 700 engineering colleges across UP.
UPTU colleges will be connected to IIT-B's 'Spoken Tutorial' portal where they can study online courses.IIT-B officials, students will also be able to download audio-visual lectures on their smartphones in Hindi, English and other regional languages. The portal offers e-content in 387 Hindi and 620 English topics. UPTU officials said the tie-up will benefit students and help raise academic standards.
Besides this, To ensure that entrance tests and counselling sessions are held on time, the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has decided to advance the announcement of the state entrance examination date to later this month. UPTU also plans to reach out to school students to inform them about the state entrance examinations so that they appear in large numbers.
R K Khandal, UPTU vice-chancellor, said the university has also formed a board of studies to review and upgrade the academic syllabus. "The board comprises eminent academics of UPTU colleges. They will review the syllabus and upgrade it. We hope to implement this in the upcoming academic session," he said.
