:: Threat over UPTU Odd Semester Results 2015 ::

There is no end to internal bickering in Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU)comprising 700 technical colleges with over 4 lakh students. The latest row is over removal of additional controller of exams (ACOE) by vice-chancellor R K Khandal. The ousted ACOE Vikram Singh Yadav shot off a letter to the state government challenging the VC's decision. The dispute has stalled evaluation work, thus delaying declaration of semester exam results.

For example, semester examinations at UPTU got over on January 15. So far, even coding of answer sheets has not begun. The results, therefore, are expected to come out "not before June", when again the semester examinations would begin. This is according to sources of newspaper, hence, we will update you all whenever any update regarding odd semester results 2014-15 will be officially announced.

Surprisingly, the ACOE who is appointed by the state government received word of appreciation from vice-chancellor Khandal three months back, saying, "The examination branch of UPTU deserves kudos for several challenging tasks executed by them in time and efficiently without any problems during the period especially after the merger of MTU under the leadership of Prof Vikram Singh Yadav.''

Acccording to the leading newspaper ::
Yadav has now lodged a complaint also against COE B N Mishra, also appointed by Khandal. ACOE has alleged involvement of Mishra in cases of impersonation during the state entrance examination (SEE-2014). Mishra's appointment as COE is already under state government's scanner. State government has also raised questions on appointment of J P Saini as the SEE -2015 coordinator. "HC has put a stay on the issue the government has raised. The matter is presently sub judice,'' he said.

Mishra said, "The report submitted by the committee did not prove me guilty. The government took wrong inference from the report and ordered inquiry against me. Another committee was constituted. The report said I am innocent. The report was also put up before the Executive Council.''

On removal of ACOE, he said, "Since I joined (three months back), there was gross non-cooperation, indiscipline and disobedience reported from the ACOE. He deliberately attempted to derail the examination process."

When contacted, Khandal said, "The ACOE was removed on the recommendations of COE and to ensure results are on time.''

In recent past, the university has been in the news for unceremonious exit of former registrar on charges of corruption, government objection over appointed of State Entrance Exam coordinator who was found guilty of corruption in a CBI probe and controversy over the VC's resignation letter.
