- Mathematics: Vectors, Probability, Definite Integration, Matrices Determinants, Dynamics, Complex Numbers, Theory of Equation, Application of Derivatives and Trigonometric Ratios & Identities.
- Revisit your Flash cards/ Revision Notes: You must have prepared some flash cards or revision notes or highlighted the important points or formulae. So, just revisit your flash cards so as to recall the absorbed matter which has got buried in the deeper layers of the brain. This is extremely important as you are bound to miss out various facts as you proceed and cover other topics. Hence, these revision notes help you in retaining the facts.
- Practice as much as you can: Try solving maximum number of questions and do not use calculators for calculations. But at the final stage it would be better to go for calculators as it’ll save your time. This will not only improve your speed but also increase your accuracy of attempting questions.
- UPSEE previous year papers: Practicing questions form the past year papers is extremely important to get acquainted with the exam pattern. They help in identifying the weak areas and also act as a rehearsal of the final day. At times you can also be lucky to get some repeated question.
- Tune in your routine: If you are one of those who sleep during the day and study till late hours, then it’s time to change your routine. You must study during the day and especially in the morning and afternoon as if you don’t do so, you are likely to feel sleepy during exam. Your body gets accustomed to the cycle you follow and hence it is important to tune in your routine according to the exam.
- Take breaks: Not wasting your time does not mean that you will study for 24 hours. Plan frequent breaks, go for morning walk, talk to your friends and be relaxed. Anxiety will only spoil your performance. These breaks refresh your mind and increase your retention power. Practice some mediation as it improves concentration and relieves muscles.
- Further your problem solving skills: UPTU exam examines candidates on their analytical and problem solving abilities. Hence, it is crucial to work hard on improving the analytical abilities. Mugging the concepts blindly won’t prove fruitful. Thus, the students are advised to go into the intricacies of the topics and acquire in-depth knowledge.
- Good speed is imperative: The paper is not very tough but it is not easy to tackle 150 questions in 3 hours. Hence, good speed can provide an edge over others. Instead of attempting to solve the questions completely, it is important to opt for shortcuts and tricks to obtain the solutions by elimination of options.
